This 23.5-hectare space extending south from the Seine River was once the royal botanical garden. It contains an astonishing variety of landscaped gardens and plant species, the Natural History Museum’s Paris galleries and also a small zoo. Access Place Valhubert, 14 minutes from the hotel.

Located in the Jardin des Plantes, this museum is one of the earliest of its kind in Europe, dating back to 1635 but officially inaugurated in 1793 during the French Revolution. The impressive Grande Galerie de l’Evolution contains 7,000 specimens of land and sea animals. Access Rue Buffon, an 11-minute walk from the hotel.

Named for a local family of dyers, this tapestry factory was founded in 1601, and it became the supplier to French kings from Louis XIV. Now run by the French Culture Ministry, it offers guided visits on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 1 pm. 42 Avenue des Gobelins, a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

The Pantheon’s distinctive dome dominates the Paris skyline from its perch on Saint-Genevieve hill. Here, famous figures who forged France are buried and commemorated. Open 10 am to 6.30 pm daily, 20 minutes by foot from the hotel.
